As we emerge from the pandemic, this school year is dedicated to community building. As such we have partnered with SkiCan, Canada's most trusted leader in destination ski packages and travel planning, to create a special Kanata Montessori Community Ski/Snowboard Vacation in Banff, Alberta.

Banff is the international jewel of our National Park System and is also a destination that is perfect for both skiers/snowboarders and non skiers. From a skier's perspective, we will have access to three world class ski resorts in Mount Norquay, Sunshine Mountain and Lake Louise with all these resorts providing the most dependable late March ski conditions in North America.   

We have chosen the second week of our two-week March Break, from March 19 - 24, 2023, as the time frame for our trip.
























Who can participate

Students aged 14 and older can sign up and participate independent of parents: Currently, we can accommodate eight students signing up individually. These students will be supervised on a full time basis by educator, Dave Stibbe, who is the ski trip manager. If we have more than eight students wanting to sign up ,we will discuss bringing a second educator to help with supervision.

Ages 13 and younger can participate with Kanata Montessori parent(s): Any student aged 13 and younger can sign up with a parent or designated adult supervisor, who will also sign up as a participant on the trip. Parents can coordinate between families if a parent wishes to supervise and be responsible for more children.

Parents and extended family (including siblings who are not from the school): Parents/families are more than welcome to join as an entire family group.

Kanata Montessori staff, their partners and family: all staff and their families are also eligible to sign up as participants on the trip.

Package prices range from $2,100 to $2,400 per person, taxes included depending on accommodation arrangements.

There are a limited number of spots available on this trip. For confirmation you will need to complete the Google Form linked below and we will require a $500 dollar deposit payment by December 15, 2022. Deposits must be made by etransfer to finance@kmscrhs.ca

Upon receiving deposits on Dec 15th we will have a Trip meeting with parents to discuss final payment plans and steps. After the meeting deposits will be forwarded to Ski Can and they will no longer be refundable.

If we do not meet the minimum 15 participants we will refund deposits in full, however if we confirm the trip, these deposits will not be refunded and cannot be rescinded for a change of mind.

We are very excited for this opportunity and we hope this is the beginning of a wonderful community tradition. We extend this invitation to all in our school community.
